Cherokee Children’s Home (CCH) is licensed as a basic foster care facility, serving youth ages 6-21 in the state of North Carolina.  Most of their residents are referred to them by the Tribal Family Safety Program or DSS agencies from surrounding counties.  CCH provides a stable, consistent, and safe environment for their residents to stay. CCH ensures their residents are up-to-date on medical care, including dental, vision and therapeutic services. CCH also connects them to community resources or try to keep them involved with as many activities as possible. Based on the circumstances, often times we are able to allow our residents to stay in their current public school.  CCH also works with them on life skills, anger management, problem solving, etc. Some of the older kids even help out in the local community by doing various jobs.
