Pamela J. Culp, MD, of Mecklenburg Radiology Associates, was the keynote speaker.  Elizabeth S. Shields, BSRT(R), Program Director, presented diplomas and Richard H. Hardin, RT(R), Clinical/Didactic Instructor, presented pins.  Bennett R. Hollenberg, MD, Medical Director, presented awards.

Mr. Clarke was the recipient of the GE Healthcare Award for Scholastic Achievement.  This award is presented to the graduate with the highest grade point average.

Mr. Guy was selected by the radiographers to receive the Alexander Award for Best All Around Student.  The award was named to honor C. Elaine Alexander, BSRT(R), past Director of Radiology.  In 1973, Elaine and then Chief Radiologist, Hugh H. Hayes, MD, founded the program.  She defined for all who worked with her the meaning of professional commitment. Through the establishment of the Alexander Award for Best All Around Student, Presbyterian Hospital School of Radiologic Technology and Mecklenburg Radiology honor Elaine and those who exemplify the ideals for which she stands.

The Mecklenburg Radiology Outstanding Staff Radiographer Award is presented to the staff radiographer whom the graduates feel has contributed the most to their education.  The graduates selected Margaret Peterson, RT(R), staff radiographer at Presbyterian Hospital Matthews, to receive this year's award.

A reception for the graduates, family, and friends was held after the ceremony.
